IN HOME DOG TRAINING

With in-home dog training, the convenience, effectiveness, and personalized attention will transform your dog’s behavior right in front of your eyes. Playful Balance Dog Training currently offers private lessons or a combination of lessons and day training.
I evaluate every client and dog individually and put a great deal of thought into what will work best for each dog. With consistency, clear boundaries, and reward, the end result should be a well-mannered dog. In my training, obedience comes second.
Most owners don’t struggle to teach their dog sit, but they do struggle to have a calm dog in and out of the house. Think of obedience like a trick. Action = reward. With this method, your dog isn’t learning how to be well mannered when no one is around. With my training, your dog will not require prompting but rather be choosing to perform a polite behavior on his/her own.

The Fundamentals
Our Most Popular Package!
(4) 1 hour sessions – $695 – (8 week program)
A beginner-friendly program for busy schedules, this package covers training fundamentals through four biweekly in-home lessons. Sessions can be tailored to minor behavioral concerns and include personalized homework, support, and guidance throughout.
This program will cover:
- Loose Leash Walking
- Place Training
- Safe Handling Skills
- Minor Behavioral Concerns
*Necessary training equipment is provided as part of this package.
The Fundamentals 2.0
(6) 1 hour sessions – $995 – (6 week program)
Unlike the original fundamentals program, this variation is for dogs with more than one behavioral challenge. This package moves a bit quicker and will include weekly, rather than bimonthly, lessons. In this package you will have six lessons to allow for additional practice and guidance both at home and in public settings. Muzzle training will be included if deemed necessary.
This program will cover:
- Loose Leash Walking
- Place Training
- Safe Handling Skills
- Muzzle Training (if needed)
*Necessary training equipment (excluding muzzles) is provided as part of this package.
Obedience Basics
(6) 1 hour sessions – $895 – (6 week program)
*Necessary training equipment is provided as part of this package.
This program is a variation of The Fundamentals, focusing on the implementation of obedience commands into daily life while maintaining a calm, well-mannered dog. This program is perfect for dogs new to training or those ready to advance beyond Puppy Essentials.
This program will cover:
- Loose Leash Walking
- Place Training
- Crate Training
- Sit and Down Stay
- Leave It
- Wait
- Off
- Come
- 1-2 lessons in public settings
Optional: Safe handling skills (add on $75) – This teaches the owner(s) grooming basics and the dog calm acceptance.
The Go Getter
For reliable on and off leash control
(6) 1 hour lessons and (4) day training lessons – $1595
*Ecollar and other necessary training equipment is provided as part of this package.
Designed for committed owners, this program combines weekly private lessons with day training. It begins with three in-home sessions covering leash skills, place, and recall, followed by four day-training sessions introducing the e-collar. The program concludes with three more guided lessons to ensure you’re confident using the equipment in a variety of applications.
Graduation from this program should result in a dog that:
- Walks nicely on leash
- Comes when called
- Doesn’t run out of the house
- Doesn’t jump on guests
- Stays on place amidst distractions
Note: Dogs with multiple behavioral challenges may be required to complete additional training before beginning this program.
Puppy Essentials
(4) 1 hour sessions – $845 – (4 week program)
Tailored to puppies 5 months and younger, skills learned will advance each week through in-home lessons. This program covers formal commands such as sit, down, off and leave it. And mindset skills including how to settle on and off of place, handling skills for easy grooming, appropriate toy play, impulse control and more! *Includes a variety of helpful training equipment to get you started, such as a door tether, clicker, drag leash, and elevated dog bed.
Any behavioral or house training challenges will also be addressed in these lessons.
Rudimentary Puppy
2 hours – $250
This singular lesson is aimed to jump start you into learning the basics of raising a well-rounded puppy. You will learn how to set basic boundaries, foster healthy socialization, introduce luring and shaping, and continue house training.
This lesson is best suited for puppies 5 months or younger.
Day Training
Weekly training – $1195
Perfect for extra support getting started, this month-long program includes day training outings to be paired with a 45–60 minute in-home lesson. This lesson will review what was worked on and show owner(s) how to continue progressing.
Note: To be eligible for this program, your dog must be crate trained.
*Necessary training equipment is provided as part of this package.
Trick Dog Intro
1 hour – $115
In this singular lesson, I will introduce you to the use of a clicker and show you how to teach basic tricks. This lesson is aimed at building a stronger bond between you and your dog as well as practicing timing to better aid future training. *Includes clicker

Single Private Lesson
1 hour – $200
At the hour-long session, I will provide necessary training equipment and meet at a convenient location for both parties. This session is customizable to the dog and situation.
Please note: Any travel distance exceeding ~30 minutes or 15 miles will be subject to additional fees.
